Tomato cake

My neighbor brought me a different piece of cake and gave me the recipe.


3 eggs
2 cups sugar
1 / 2 cup of oil
2 cups flour
1 cup cornstarch
1 tablespoon baking powder
6 tomatoes, chopped and washed.

Put the washed and chopped tomatoes in a pan with a little water and bring to boil. Leave a few minutes. This boil is just to break the acidity of the tomato ...
Turn off the heat and bring the tomatoes to the blender. Strain and reserve the juice.

Beat the egg whites and set aside. Beat the egg yolks with sugar, add the oil, flour, starch and slowly go adding tomato juice to give the point of cake batter. Finally add the yeast and egg whites.

With tomato juice left over, you make a jelly to use as cobretura cake. Add sugar to taste to the juice and cook again until you take the point of jam.
